I'm tearing up.............. Before Christopher Reeve passed away (his final acting role was as Dr. Virgil Swann on Smallville the episode titled Legacy (His other episode was Rosetta in season 2). Chris told Tom that he would have been his successor for Superman, Tom said that it gave him chills. This re-edit is awesome! So many connections were made between Reeve's Superman movies and Smallville!!! Several actors who were in the original Superman films would appear on Smallville, connecting the two universes in the Superman mythos. When I first saw the Pilot, I thought Tom was Chris, Spitting image. His mannerisms are spot on. Sure, he makes his Clark his own, but as the show progressed, he started to take on the bumbling Clark Kent, stammering over his words, and even though he didn''t actually wear the tights, Tom still portrayed Superman in his performance, Playing two characters rolled into one. Chris would be proud. Simply put................ Superman has returned!
